Title: Making Money with Pastor Thompson

Production Co: New Take Films

Brian Thompson is an artist, pastor, educator, and currency designer, having designed the current U.S one hundred dollar bill that was released in 2013. In this mini-doc, Brian talks about his art, his most important projects and how being neurodivergent is a superpower for creativity.

There were a number of challenges with this edit. Due to a change in shoot day and a reduced amount of time with Brian the shoot had been rushed, leading to a reduced amount of available b-roll, some audio issues and lack of a gimbal, which resulted in some shaky handheld footage. The director/presenter, James, was even concerned that no story would be able to be constructed from the footage, and I really enjoyed being able to find that story and piece it together.

Despite the production issues, I think that I was able to bring this piece together a really nice mini-doc that tells an important story of how neurodivergence and creativity go hand-in-hand and how art still impacts everything in the world around us.

Title: The National Youth Brass Band of Great Britain Young Conductors Competition 2026

Client: The National Youth Brass Band of Great Britain (NYBBGB)

Production Co: Quill Media

The NYBBGB commissioned this short documentary for their bi-annual young conductors competition. The shoot went well, with lots of coverage of the event, and so the edit went smoothly and the client was very pleased with the first draft, only voicing some minor comments regarding branding placement.

The success of this project lead to further work with the NYBBGB in 2026, including a series of educational videos that prepared young musicians for their audition with the NYBBGB.
